Movies to be watch during lockdown

  1. Perfume: story of a murderer- story of a passionately obsessed artist. What he is obsessed with, is something you need to watch the movie for.
2. Omkara: Adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello, set in the background of India. Saif Ali Khan as Langda Tyagi is wickedly awesome. Ajay Devgan, as usual, did justice to his character of Omkara. The plot as the virtue of the name it bears was amazing. Spice of Indian background makes it even better.
3. Life is beautiful : Indeed, and so is the movie. A rare amalgam of optimism and happiness even at the time when stars are gloomy.
4. Highway: The movie is about searching yourself. It asks questions. Travel deep down inside, search for yourself.
5. Shaurya: A remake of ‘ a few good men’ but KK Menon as Brigadier was far more amazing than Jack Nicholsan. This movie qualifies in 10/10 just for its end 10 minutes of acting by KK Menon.
6. Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid: Butch is rogue and Sundance is even better. But the bond of friendship between them was ever lasting.
7. Amelie: Amelie is sweet, charming lady living in Paris having a heart of gold. She has a weird yet the most beautiful outlook towards life. She seeks love while trying to help others.
8. Fight club: The fight within is the fight outside. Unleash the former and you conquer the later. Brad Pitt like all the time is glorious. Edward norton is unmatchable.
9. The curios case of Benjamin Button:
Love, life, and faith: A saga, which entangled time itself. Kate Blanchet will make you fall for her, Brad Pitt will prove why he is the contemporary best.
10. Django Unchained: It is crude, real and meticulously crafted by none other than Terentino.
Jamie Foxx is good, Leonardo is awesome and Cristoph Waltz is incomparable.
Goshhhhh, I want to add more…
Other commendable movies (9.9/10) are:
  1. Masaan: It leaves you shattered, it is harsh and is sweet but it's life, which eventually you have to live.
2. Ankhon Dekhi : This is serious and funny at the same time but will ask you questions. Sanjay Mishra is an unutilized gem of Bollywood.
3. Dukhtar : A harsh story set in the hilly areas of Pakistan, a reality which women there are living with. See how the vortex of issues shrouds the only girl child of Allah Rakhi But the mother subdues the evils off her kid. It's a tale of love and life.
4. Amores Perros: Love hurts, indeed it does. See it through the glare of others. Amazingly powerful tale.
5. Good Fellas: Nothing to do with good fellas. Bad is the new good. Senior with Joe Pesci silver lined by Martin Scorcesse. Need more details?
6. Sholay: Unarguably an entertainment. Just check out friendship, love, and drama blended in a tumbler of spicy Hindi movie. A bit overrated but for the sake of Gabbar let it be.
7. V for Vendetta: A for awesome and F for focused- free flowing.
8. Forest Gump: Because Gump runs, fires and most importantly he loves. He is stupid (stupid is as stupid does)and exceptionally talented.Lieutenant Dan and the shrimp boy with big gums and funny accent are the bonuses of the movie.
9. The leap Year: That chemistry and those beautiful scenes of rural Ireland. Love is Amy Adams. Over and out !
10. Border: Because soldiers have heart too but there is nothing as glorious to die on the Border. I personally cherish Mathura Das’ scene( when his leave was granted) .
Please don't stop me …. Some more… please…
9.8/10
  1. Rang De Basanti: This certainly qualifies to be 10/10 but I will have to reshuffle the order, so be it . Well, a must watch for the youth. You will find reflection of your latent energy into the characters. Who knows, it's in you also.
2. The Notebook : A dulcet tale of love birds. That's how the life should be. Blithe and hence bliss.
3. I saw the sun( Gunesi Gordon) : A Turkish tale of a Kurdish rural family, which due to border-side terrorism migrates to the town leaving behind their heaven. The story walks you through how the city treats them.
4. The motorcycle diaries: A life lived such! To take a Journey is simply a realistic attempt to know yourself.
5. Seven years in Tibet: Sorry but I am not biased for Brad Pitt. He is simply awesome . A true story about Tibet with American POV.
6. The downfall ( Der Untergang) : Glory and gore, upsets and finallly collapse . A story of a legend, Adolf Hitler during the last few days of WW2 in his secret bunker. Set against the backdrop of the most brutal war, when the curtains of the most dreaded and powerful regime was about to fall. Bruno Ganz is simply amazing playing Hitler.
7. The Boy in the striped Pajama: None are born racist and jingoist. Simply a tale of two innocent minds during the Nazi Regime.
8. The way back : A true successful escape story from the prison of Siberia to Darjeeling in India. It teaches the life and the survival strategy.
9. The enemy at the gates: A fallacy crafted to perfection. A story of snipers of two armies during WW2. As the story unfolds, it takes turns and twists. I wished Ed Harris should have won.
10. 3 Idiots: Simply a toast to be served when you are young. You will appreciate college life, friendship and passion for the career. It's serious while pretending to be lax.
