Some must-eat dishes


Momo is undeniably the most popular food here. Momo is a stuffed dumpling with various fillings and is usually steamed. Momo are available both in veg and non veg (chicken, pork, buffalo meat, mutton), sometimes fried and are eaten with tomato pickle and soup.


  • Sukuti sadeko
Sukuti means dry meat. The sun dried and smoked meat is thinly sliced and marinated with different edible raw spices and herbs.
  • Pani Puri
Pani puri is a popular food in South Asia. It is a fried puffed pastry balls filled with spicey mashed potato, green pea, coriander and is eaten dipping the balls in the flavoured water.
  • Aaloo Til ko Achar
This is a typical nepali pickle or often called potato salad.
  • Kodo ko Jaad
Kodo means millet. Also known as Tongba, kodo ko jaad is a traditional distilled alcoholic beverage.
  • Sekuwa
Sekuwa is meat roasted in natural wood fire. It is mixed with natural herbs and spices. Sekuwa is made with Pork, lamb, goat and chicken.
  • Juju Dhau
Juju Dhau, also known as the king of curd is sweetened yogurt.
  • Choila
Choila is a non-veg spiced grilled dish and is often eaten with beaten rice or beverages.
and last but not the least
  • Dal Bhat Tarkari ( Rice, Lentil & Curry)
This is one of the staple diet in my country and this simply means Rice, Lentil and vegetable/ non veg curry often served/eaten with tomato pickle, jar pickle, yogurt etc.
